I work part time as an abstinence educator and my husband, Trey, is a technical manager at a local eyeglass store. Our income, supporting three children is simply not enough to cover this expensive surgery. In total, the surgery will cost upwards of $15,000 to $20,000 plus the cost of traveling from Florida to California for weeks at a time.

I'm dreading being apart from our other two children during our travel to California, but am so excited to give Makinna the gift of hearing! At two and a half years old, Makinna's speech is a little delayed, but she is trying so hard to speak and is making so much progress.
